Shrestha Dairy

Shrestha Dairy is located out in Chowberia, which is part of Bongaon in 24 Parganas (N). It is a bit of a drive to get out here, but it is where all the milk comes from. We have a modest setup here. It is mostly about collecting the milk from the local farmers and getting it ready for the morning market. We have been doing this for a long time in this village. The mornings are the busiest part of the day, with everyone bringing in their cans. There is a lot of pouring, measuring, and checking. We have a few large cooling tanks that hum all day long. The office is just a small room with a desk and some old ledgers where we write everything down. We don't use much fancy technology. It’s a very local operation. Most of us grew up around here, so we know all the families in Chowberia. The road can be a bit bumpy, especially after the rains, but the milk trucks still make it through. We don't have any big advertisements or a website. People just know where Shrestha Dairy is if they need fresh milk for their homes. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for those few hours in the early morning. We just try to do our work honestly and keep the supply steady for the town. It’s what we know how to do and we keep at it.
