About National Computer Education Service – Education in Malda
We run the National Computer Education Service over in Taraltala. It's under the Chanchal post office and police station jurisdiction. The area is usually quite busy. We set up this place because there wasn't much around here for learning digital skills. We have a few rooms filled with computers and some benches for students to sit. It’s not a high-tech office with glass walls, just a regular brick building. We teach basic software and how to handle a PC. Most people who come here are looking to get a certificate for a job or just want to understand how a computer works. We stay open pretty late to accommodate people finishing their work shifts. The rain sometimes leaks a bit near the door, so we have to move the rugs. It’s a local operation. We know most of our students by name after a week. Chanchal is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast if we're doing a decent job. We don't do much on social media. People just see the sign when they're passing through Taraltala. It's a simple life here, just showing people how to click and type. We’ve had the same monitors for a few years now, but they still work fine for what we need.
