Muslim Book Depot

Muslim Book Depot is located right in Star Market over in Kaliachak. It is near the post office and the police station, so there is always something going on nearby. Being in a market like this means you see everyone from the village coming through at some point during the week. We have been here for a long time and the shop has seen a lot of changes in the area. We mostly keep religious books and other items that the local community needs. It is a very basic setup with shelves lining the walls from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it is a bit of a struggle to find what you are looking for because we have so many different things packed into the space. We don't use a computer for everything, so a lot of it is just knowing where we put things last. The market can be dusty and loud, especially on the days when everyone comes in to do their shopping. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down. There isn't anything fancy about how we work. We just provide what the people ask for and try to keep the books in good condition. It is a small business and we are proud to be part of the Star Market community. Most of our customers are people we have known for years and that makes the days go by a lot faster.
