We have been running things here at Gharialichak for quite a while now. It is a busy spot near the Kaliachak police station, and you can usually find us around the office during the day unless we are out at a site somewhere. The place isn't anything fancy, just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but that is just how it is in this part of town. Most of the people who work here grew up in the area, so we know most of the neighbors. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where to find us if they need something done. My father started this and now we are just keeping it going as best as we can. There are days when the weather makes everything difficult, especially when the rain starts pouring down, but the work has to move forward. We usually have tea together in the morning before the real work begins. It’s a simple life. We deal with whatever comes our way. Sometimes the supplies are late or a machine breaks down, but we just fix it and keep moving. Our office is right there in the middle of everything. It’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. We don't spend much time making things look pretty, we just focus on the tasks at hand. We are usually here until the sun goes down.
