Krishna Basan Bhander

Our shop, Krishna Basan Bhander, is right on N. S. Road in Chanchal. If you live around here, you’ve probably walked past us a hundred times while going to the market. We sell all kinds of pots, pans, and steel plates that people use in their kitchens. It can get pretty noisy when we are moving the stock around because everything is metal and it clangs together quite loudly. The shelves are packed pretty high, and sometimes it's hard to find exactly what someone is looking for right away, but we know where most things are buried in the stacks. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. Dealing with utensils is okay, they don't spoil like food does, but they do get quite dusty if they sit too long on the higher shelves. We spend a lot of time wiping down the brass and steel to keep them looking okay for the customers. Chanchal is a busy place, especially on market days, and the road outside gets very crowded with bikes, carts, and people. We just open up in the morning and stay until late evening when the street starts to get quiet. It’s a family-run thing, so usually, one of us is here while the others are home or running errands. We don't have a big team or anything, just us. People come in for a single spoon or a whole set for a wedding gift. We just wrap it in old newspaper and send them on their way. It’s steady work for us.
