Being situated right near Asansol Railway Station in Malda makes Fm Food & Corporation a very busy place. You can hear the trains rolling in and out all day and night. The dust from the station tends to settle on everything, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the desks and the shelves. We are just a small group of people working here. It’s mostly logistics and moving food supplies from one place to another. The building itself is quite old and tucked away in a narrow lane. If you don't know the area, you might miss us. We don't have a big neon sign out front. We just have our name painted on the shutter. We drink a lot of tea from the stall across the road to stay alert. Sometimes the internet goes down and we have to write everything in physical ledgers, which is a bit of a headache. We aren't some high-tech outfit with the latest gadgets. We just have a few computers and a lot of patience. The staff here has been together for a long time. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes for lunch. We don't do any big promotions or ads. We just handle the orders as they come in and try to make sure nothing gets lost. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until evening every single day.
