Agarwala Modern Rice Mill

Being located right on N.H.-34 makes things a bit hectic at Agarwala Modern Rice Mill. We are right near Milangarh in Harishchandrapur, so there is always a lot of movement. The mill itself is a big structure and you can hear the machines running from quite a distance. It is a bit of a loud environment, but that is just the nature of the work we do here. There is always a fine layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We have been operating here for years, watching the highway get busier and busier. Farmers bring their loads in and the courtyard gets crowded with tractors and carts. It is a lot of physical work and the days can be very long during the harvest season. We do not have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Usually, people just come to the side gate or talk to us in the yard. The sun hits the metal roof in the summer and it gets quite warm inside, so we drink a lot of water and keep the windows open. It is a local operation and most of the guys working here live just a few kilometers away. We focus on getting the grain processed and out the door. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we know. The rhythm of the machines is like a heartbeat for this place.
