The office is tucked away in a spot called Manasam over in Poozhithara. It’s a quiet part of Kottakkal in Malappuram. Most days start with someone opening up the windows to let the Kerala breeze in, though when the monsoon hits, everything stays shut tight. We’ve been operating from this location for a while now, handling all the various things that come with running a holiday company like Wonderla. It isn't a fancy glass building or anything like that. Just a regular place where people sit at desks and talk on the phone. You’ll find a few of us here every morning, usually with a cup of tea, going over the schedules for the parks or checking on bookings. People from the neighborhood know the house name Manasam pretty well. It’s got that local feel where everyone says hello when they walk past. The work involves a lot of coordination, making sure things are ready for visitors and keeping the paperwork in order. Sometimes the power goes out, which is just part of living in this part of India, so we just wait it out or find something else to do. It’s not always fast-paced, but there’s always something that needs fixing or an email that needs an answer. We just keep things moving along steadily from this little corner of Kerala, making sure the business side of the holidays stays on track without making too much of a fuss about it.
