Vk Super Market

Our shop is located at number 44 in the Chembakuth area. Edavanna is a nice place to live and work, and we enjoy being part of the community here. We have been running Vk Super Market for a bit now. It is not one of those massive malls you see in the city, just a local store where you can grab your daily things. We spend a lot of our time unboxing heavy crates and putting items back on the shelves. The fresh fruit and vegetables usually come in very early in the morning. We try our best to keep everything looking neat and tidy, but by the evening time, it is usually a bit of a mess. Customers come in and like to chat about the local news or the weather. We know most of their names and what they usually buy. Malappuram can get very rainy during the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time mopping the floor when people walk in with their wet shoes and umbrellas. We have a small wooden counter where we sit to do the billing. Sometimes the old computer is a bit slow and people have to wait in line. They are usually patient and don't seem to mind much. We carry a bit of everything, from soap and shampoo to big bags of rice. It is a lot of work keeping track of what is running out each week. My cousin helps me with the heavy lifting and moving boxes around. We open early every single day.
