Timber Cubes

Timber Cubes is situated right opposite Assabah College on Thrissur Road in Valayamkulam. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always something going on outside our doors. We work with wood, mostly cutting and shaping timber for different uses. The shop is always a bit messy with sawdust and scraps of wood, but that’s just how it goes when you’re actually making things. We have a few guys here who are really good with their hands. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; we spend most of our time out in the workshop area. You can usually hear the saws running from a distance away. We’ve been here for several years and have seen the college across the street grow a lot. Sometimes students come over to ask about wood types or just to see what we are building. We don't do any big promotions or glossy brochures. We just show people the wood we have and tell them what it costs. It’s practical work and it can be quite tiring, especially in the summer heat. We take our lunch breaks together under the shade when we can. It’s a simple life, but there is something nice about finishing a piece of work and seeing it ready to go. If you need some timber and you're near Valayamkulam, you’ll find us easily enough. We are usually here until sundown every day.
