Silver Mount International School

Up in Silver Hills, in the Kakkooth area of Perintalmanna, you’ll find our school. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but the view of Malappuram is okay. The school day starts when the buses roll in, which is always a noisy affair with the drivers shouting and kids jumping off. Our building is a solid structure, nothing too modern, just lots of classrooms and a playground that gets pretty dusty in the summer. We spend our time managing schedules and making sure the bells ring at the right time. It’s a school, so there’s always that smell of chalk and floor cleaner. The staff room is a bit cramped, and we usually have a pile of notebooks waiting to be looked at. It’s not like those fancy schools you see on TV. We have regular desks and chairs, and sometimes the fans make a clicking sound that we’ve just learned to ignore. People in Perintalmanna know us because we’ve been here in Silver Hills for a good bit now. We don't have a marketing team writing stuff for us. We’re just teachers and staff trying to keep things organized. When the afternoon sun hits the windows, the whole place slows down a little before the final bell goes and everyone rushes back to the buses to go home. It's a lot of work, but it's what we do.
