Shifa Hospital

Shifa Hospital is over in Kallampara, in the Feroke area of Calicut. We are located right opposite the masjid, which makes it very easy for anyone in the neighborhood to point you in our direction. The address is Perumugham PO, and it’s a part of Calicut that has its own local feel, away from the main city center but still quite active. Being opposite the masjid means we have a lot of people passing by our gates every day. It’s a good location for a hospital because people know exactly where to go if they need help. Inside, the building is laid out simply. We have the different wards and the areas where we see outpatients. It’s not a place for luxury, just a place for medicine and recovery. We get people from all over Feroke and the surrounding villages coming in. The atmosphere is generally calm, though it gets a bit hectic when we have a lot of admissions at once. We just take things as they come. The staff usually brings their own lunch and we eat together when there’s a quiet moment. Calicut can get very hot, but the stone floors in the hospital stay relatively cool. We are just a group of people working together to run this hospital for the community in Kallampara. It’s a decent place to work, and we try to do our jobs properly without making a fuss. The days are long, but we stay until the work is finished.
