We spend most of our days here in Malappuram, specifically at Thadapparamba near the Pandikkar Road office. It is a busy place where the air usually smells like dried pepper or turmeric depending on what arrived that morning. The team is mostly local folks from around Payyanad who walk or ride their bikes in every morning. Sacks of raw materials are stacked up and machines hum throughout the afternoon. Sometimes the humidity makes everything a bit slower, but we just keep going. It isn't a fancy setup, just a practical space where Ams Spices Food Products handles various food items. A small desk sits in the corner for paperwork, while most of the floor is used for the actual work. Usually, there is some tea being made nearby. People stop by to drop off goods and there is always someone checking the quality by hand. It gets loud when the grinders are running, so we often have to shout to hear each other. The rain in Kerala can be heavy, and then we have to make sure everything stays dry under the roof. We just do the work as it comes, making sure the packets are filled and the trucks get loaded before it gets too dark in the evening. It is just a normal day-to-day life here for all of us. We have been in this spot for a while now and we know everyone in the neighborhood. It works for us and keeps everyone busy.
