Kulavattam Madrasa

Our place, Kulavattam Madrasa, sits right on Millumpadikottupara Road here in Malappuram. It is a quiet enough area most of the time, except when the students are arriving or leaving for the day. We have been working here for years, and most of the people in the community know us well. The rooms are basic with benches and desks, and we try to keep everything tidy, though with so many kids coming through, there is always a bit of dust. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the children understand what they are reading. It is not a complicated operation. We open up early, get the lights on, and wait for the first group to show up. Sometimes the road outside gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time reminding the kids to wipe their feet before coming inside. We are just regular people from Malappuram who care about our traditions and want to make sure the kids have a solid foundation. There is no big mystery to what we do. It is just about being here every day, being patient with the students, and keeping the place running for the families who rely on us. We see the kids grow up so fast, and before you know it, their younger siblings are starting here too. That is just how it goes at a local madrasa like ours.
