Our place is located right near the Sahib Juma Masjid. It’s a well-known landmark, so most people just follow the sound of the prayers to find us. Kottakkal Unani Hospital & Hijama Centre isn't a massive building, but we have enough room for the different treatment areas. It’s a very practical setup for what we do here. We have specific rooms for the Hijama sessions which we keep very clean and tidy. The atmosphere is generally calm, which helps when people are coming in for their treatments. Our staff is used to the daily rhythm of the neighborhood. During prayer times, things slow down a bit, and then it picks up again quite quickly. We have jars of various Unani preparations on the shelves. It’s not a place with a lot of decoration. We have simple furniture and focus on the work we do. People often sit and talk while they wait their turn. It’s a bit of a social spot in that way, with neighbors catching up on things. We don't have a fancy website or big posters hanging outside. Word of mouth is how most people hear about us. We just try to provide a steady service to whoever walks in through the front door. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it for a long time here near the masjid. We open early and stay late enough for most. The air here feels a bit cooler than the street.
