This location of Faculty is also at the Prasanthi house in Mundappalam, Kondotty. Being in Malappuram means we are surrounded by a community that values local connections more than anything else. We’ve been here for a long while and the daily routine hasn't changed much over the years. We open up the office in the morning, dust off the desks, and see what the day has in store for us. There is always some paperwork to sort out or someone dropping by with a question about our work. The house itself is comfortable and doesn’t feel like a cold, industrial office space at all. We have a small garden area that we try to keep tidy, though the weeds grow fast during the heavy monsoon rains. Our work is straightforward. We don’t try to use big words or fancy descriptions to explain it. It’s just about being available and getting the tasks finished on time for everyone. The staff here are mostly local people who live within a few kilometers of Kondotty. This makes it easy for everyone to get to work on time, unless the traffic on the main road is particularly bad. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything. We just focus on showing up and doing the work as well as we can every day. It’s a practical way to live and work. Most of our interactions are face-to-face, which is the way things have always been done in this part of Kerala.
