Durocon Tiles

The shop is located at 2-21 in Thenhipalam, right near the Calicut University post office. It is a green part of the area, but the yard at Durocon Tiles is mostly concrete and tile stacks. We have been working out of this spot for many years. When the heavy rains come, we have to cover everything up with blue tarps so the boxes don't get soggy. It is a lot of work running back and forth when the sky turns dark. We have a few guys here who help with the heavy lifting and loading the small trucks that come by for deliveries. The university students sometimes walk past on their way to classes, but mostly our visitors are local builders or families from the nearby villages. We have a lot of different tiles, some for floors and some for walls, just piled up in the sheds. The office is small and usually smells like tea because we make a fresh pot every couple of hours. There is a lot of paperwork with the taxes and the orders, so one of us is usually stuck behind the desk while the others are out back. We don't really have a big showroom with bright lights, just the tiles sitting there in the natural light so you can see what they actually look like. It is a straightforward business and we just try to keep things organized despite all the dust and the rain.
