About Saini Tractor Trolley Works – Agriculture & Farming in Mala
Our workshop is located at number 10 in Mangalam, right near the AMLP school. You can usually hear us working before you actually see the place because of the sound of the welding and the metal clanging. We spend our days mostly covered in grease and iron filings, fixing up tractor trolleys for the farmers in the area. The building is a bit old and the roof leaks a little when the monsoon rains are heavy, but it stays cool enough in the summer. Being so close to the school means we hear the kids playing during their breaks, which is a nice change from the sound of the grinders. We have piles of scrap metal and spare parts scattered around the yard, but we generally know where everything is kept. The floor is stained with oil from years of repairs. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; if you need something, you just walk in and find one of us under a trolley. It is honest work and it keeps our hands busy from morning until dusk. Sometimes we stay late to finish a weld if a farmer needs his equipment back for the next morning's harvest. We just use what we have and get the repairs done so the machines can get back to the fields. It is a dusty, noisy life, but it is what we know how to do best in this little corner of Mangalam.
