Vikash Mobile Clinic

Our setup is quite a bit different from most because we operate as a mobile clinic out here in the V P-Barnahal area. We don't just stay in one fixed brick-and-mortar building all day like a regular doctor’s office might. Instead, we spend a lot of our time moving around the different parts of Barnahal to reach people right where they live. It involves a lot of driving and constantly packing and unpacking our medical equipment, but it makes a lot of sense for this specific location. The roads around here can be a bit rough and bumpy sometimes, especially after it rains, but our van holds up okay for the most part. We carry the basic medical supplies and tools we need to handle common health issues right there on the spot. People in Barnahal have gotten to know when we’re usually coming around, and they often wait for us at the usual stopping points near the main junctions or the village center. It’s a very hands-on and direct way to work. There’s no fancy air-conditioned waiting room with magazines to read, just the open air or the small space in the back of the vehicle. We deal with whatever comes our way, from minor scrapes and fevers to general health check-ups for the kids. It’s a bit unpredictable, to be honest. Some days are very slow and quiet, and other days it feels like everyone in the village needs something at the exact same time. We’ve been doing this for a long time.
