State Institute Of Automotive & Driving Skills

Out here in Mahuana, the roads are wide and it’s a good place for learning. The State Institute Of Automotive & Driving Skills is right on the main road in the Distt. Shri Muktsar Sahib. We have a lot of space for the cars and the students to practice. It isn't a fancy school with glass walls. It's more of a practical place where people come to get their skills right. You can see the dust kicking up when the learners are practicing their turns. The main road is always busy with buses and tractors, which makes for good training. We have a few old desks inside where we do the registrations. The instructors are local guys who know these roads better than anyone. We drink a lot of chai in the shade during the break times. Sometimes the sun is really strong, so we try to do the driving early or late. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been on this road for a long time. The building is simple, painted a light color that’s faded over the years. We keep the cars running as best as we can. It’s a lot of patience, sitting in the passenger seat while someone learns to use the clutch. We see all kinds of people coming through here wanting to learn. It’s a steady life and we’re glad to be part of the Mahuana community.
