Rodayanti Green Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Mahoba, specifically in the Kali Pahari area. Mr. Hargobind Singh Rajpoot runs things from there. Mahoba can be a tough place to farm because it gets so dry and the ground is quite rocky in spots. We called it a green company because we are trying to bring more life back to this dry area. We spend a lot of time worrying about water and how to keep the crops alive when the heat hits. It’s a local effort, strictly for the farmers around Kali Pahari. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just talk to each other and share what we have. Most of us have known Hargobind for years, so it feels more like a family than a business. We deal with pulses and other crops that can handle the Mahoba weather. Sometimes we sit outside when the power goes off and just talk about the next season. It’s a hard life but there is something good about working the land you were born on. We just do our best with what we have and keep the company running for everyone’s benefit. There is usually a lot of dust from the road but we don't mind it much.
