Mahendragarh is a bit of a different pace compared to the bigger cities in Haryana, and we kind of like it that way. Our shop is small, but it’s packed with bags of tea that we spend our days sorting through. The smell of the dried leaves is the first thing you notice when you walk in, and it stays on your clothes all day. We don't have a big fancy storefront with neon lights or anything. It’s just a simple place where we do our business and talk to the people who stop by. Being near the tower makes it easy to give directions to people who aren't from around here. We spend a lot of time weighing out the tea and making sure the packaging is sealed up properly so it doesn't lose its scent. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, which is just part of life here, so we keep some flashlights handy and just wait it out. It’s mostly just us and a couple of helpers trying to keep things organized. The floor is usually covered in a bit of tea dust by the end of the shift, so sweeping up is how we finish most days. We don't have a mission statement or a big philosophy. We just sell tea and try to keep the shop running.
