Our business, Durga Treading Company, is out in Satnali village. Specifically, we are at Post Satnali in the Mahendragarh district. If you are looking for us, we are right near the Patiala Bank. Being in a village like this means everyone knows everyone else. It’s a different pace of life than the big cities. We deal with trading various goods and our days are usually tied to the local rhythm of the area. We open the doors early, usually about the same time the bank opens up nearby. Mahendragarh can get quite dry and dusty, but we don't mind it much. The shop is located in Tehsil Mahendragarh and we’ve been here for quite some time. We don't have any fancy signs or modern glass fronts. It’s just a solid, practical building where we keep our stock and do our accounts. Most of our customers are locals who come in to chat as much as they do to trade. We use old-fashioned ledgers and spend a lot of time on the porch when things are slow.
