Cogent Glass

Started in Vemula Village a long time ago. The shop is just a basic building, nothing that would catch your eye if you were driving past. Most days it’s just the sound of glass being cut or moved around. It gets pretty dusty in here, especially when the wind kicks up from the fields outside. We don’t have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. People just know we are here in the village when they need something done with glass. It's a lot of manual work, lifting heavy sheets and making sure nothing cracks before it’s supposed to. Some of the guys have been working here for years and they know the rhythm of the place. We start early because the heat gets to be too much by the afternoon. The trucks come in through the narrow roads and we load them up. Sometimes it's quiet and we just sit around talking during the breaks. We have some old machines that still run fine even if they look a bit beat up. It isn’t the kind of place you’d find in a big city mall, but it works for us and the people who come to see us. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for the next day. It’s a simple life out here in Vemula. We don't worry about being the biggest, just about finishing what’s on the table today.
