Narain Rice & Dall Mills

We are based over in Sanjay Ward in Bhatapara. Narain Rice & Dall Mills is what most people call us around here. The mill is always humming with some kind of activity. It’s a big space filled with the smell of grain and the sound of the sifters. We spend a lot of time checking the bags and moving things around on the floor. It’s not the cleanest job, but we don’t mind getting our hands dirty. The sun comes through the high windows in the afternoon and lights up all the dust in the air. We’ve got a small area where we keep our records, but most of the action is out where the machines are. People in Bhatapara know where to find us if they need anything. We don’t really bother with big signs or flashy stuff. We just focus on the bags of rice and dall that come through. Sometimes the power goes out and we all have to take a break until it comes back on, which gives us a chance to sit outside and chat. We’ve had some of the same guys working here for years. It’s a familiar place and we know how everything works, from the old scales to the back gate that sticks. It’s just a regular mill doing regular work every day. Nothing more, nothing less than that. We just keep our heads down and get the processing done.
