Our office is at Mahadewa Chauraha, near the Post-Pagar Khas area. It’s at House Number 42, which is associated with Indra Bahadur Lal. VASHISHTA NAGAR GRAMIN VIKAS NIDHI LIMITED is a local community thing for us. We are out here in a more rural setting than the big city companies. It’s not a glass building with elevators. It’s just a house that has been turned into an office space for our work. We handle the rural development and the savings part of the Nidhi for the locals. It’s very quiet here compared to the big cities like Kanpur or Agra. We see the same familiar faces every single week. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment in the room. Just the basic tools to keep the records straight and the accounts updated. People come by on their way to the market or after working in the fields. We sit and talk about their accounts over a cup of tea sometimes. It’s a very personal way of doing things. We don't have a marketing budget or a big mission statement hanging on the wall. We just try to be helpful to the people in Pagar Khas. It’s a small team, maybe just two or three of us here. We keep the ledgers updated and make sure the cash is safe. It’s a responsibility we take seriously.
