Our place is situated on Mandi Road in Nichlaul, specifically in the Jokhan Lohiya Nagar neighborhood. It is usually a busy area because the market is just nearby, so there is always a lot of noise and movement outside our front door. We have been running this Nidhi company here in Maharajganj for some time. It is not a big operation at all, just a small group of us working out of this office. Most of our day is spent handling passbooks and talking to members about their savings. People often stop by after they finish their business at the mandi to put a little bit of cash away for the future. It is a good system because it relies on the members helping each other out. We do not have any high-pressure salesmen or people trying to talk you into things. We just explain the way the Nidhi works and let the members make their own choices. The office can get a bit crowded on market days, but we always find a way to make space for everyone. We try to keep our records as clear and simple as we can so there is never any confusion about the accounts. It is important to be honest when you are working with your neighbors and friends.
