Deenbandhav Social Foundation

We run the Deenbandhav Social Foundation out of Bhujauli village. It’s a quiet spot near Siswa Bazar in the Maharajganj area of Uttar Pradesh. Most of us here grew up in this part of the state, so we know the people and the local problems pretty well. The office isn't much, just a small place where we handle our paperwork and meet with neighbors. We spend a lot of time traveling between the different hamlets around Nichlaul. It can be hard getting around when the weather is bad or the roads are muddy, but that’s just how it is here. People stop by all the time asking for help with various things, and we do what we can. Sometimes the electricity goes out for hours, so we end up working by candlelight or just sitting outside to talk. It’s not like those big city offices you see on TV. We handle things as they come. Our desks are usually piled with files and the tea kettle is always going because someone is always visiting. We started this because we saw things in the village that needed fixing. It takes a lot of patience to get anything done in a rural area like this. We don’t have a huge staff, just a few local folks who care about the neighborhood. Every day is a bit different. One day we might be talking to farmers and the next we are helping someone with their papers. We just keep at it.
