About Sri Subramanyeswara Rice Mill – Food & Beverages in Mahabubnagar
Sri Subramanyeswara Rice Mill sits out on Ieeja Road in Doudarpally village. If you come by during the harvest season, the whole place is a cloud of dust and the smell of raw grain is everywhere. Our spot at Sy. No. 872/A stays loud from the moment we turn the machines on in the morning until we shut them down late at night. We have farmers coming in from all over the Gadwal district with their tractors piled high with paddy. It is a lot of work to keep the mill running right, and something always needs greasing or fixing. The staff here are mostly local guys who don't mind getting their shirts dirty and working in the heat. We don't have any fancy marketing people or a big sales department. We just focus on the rice. The office is small and usually has a thin layer of grain dust over everything, but that’s just part of the job. We spend our time checking the moisture in the grain and making sure the bags are stitched tight before they go out. It’s a cycle that follows the seasons, and when the rains are good, we are very busy. It can be exhausting when the power goes out or a belt snaps, but we have been doing this long enough to handle the hiccups. We just provide a place for the village to process their crops and keep things moving along.
