We’ve been over here at Vasavi Compound in Badepally for a while now. Most people around Jadcherla know where house number 15-89 is. It's just a regular office space where we handle the chit fund business. My name is on the paperwork, but we’re just a small group of folks working together. The building is usually busy in the mornings. People drop by to drop off their payments or just to see what the next draw looks like. We don’t have any fancy carpets or big glass windows, just the desks and some chairs for when neighbors come in to talk. It gets a bit hot in the summer, but the ceiling fans keep it okay. Mahabubnagar is home for us. We know the local families and they know us. Sometimes the paperwork gets a little messy on the desks when it's the end of the month, but we get through it. We aren't trying to be some big city corporation. We just want to keep things running right here in the mandal. If you’re walking past Badepally, you’ll see our sign. It’s nothing too flashy. We spend most of our day just checking the ledgers and making sure everyone’s accounts are straight. It's honest work and it keeps us busy. We like being part of the community here and seeing familiar faces every day. There is always someone coming or going.
