Mahalaxmi Flour Mill

The Mahalaxmi Flour Mill is a small local business at 2-139 in Jeenugurala Village. We are in the Devarkadra Mandal within Mahabubnagar District. The mill has been a part of this village for quite a long time. It’s a loud place once the machines start running in the morning. People bring their grain in big sacks, and we grind it into flour for them. There is always a lot of dust in the air, so we have to sweep and clean all the time. It’s hard work, and the machines are heavy. We do all the maintenance ourselves to keep them from breaking down. Sometimes the electricity goes out for hours, and then we just have to sit and wait. That’s the way it is in the village. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything. People just sit on the bench outside and chat while they wait for their flour. It’s a good way to stay connected with everyone in Jeenugurala. My family helps me out with the lifting and the bags. We aren't looking to become some big factory. We just like serving the local farmers and families here. It’s a steady job and we know exactly what to do every day. The work is dirty and tiring, but it’s an important part of life in the village. We’re glad to be here and help everyone get their food ready for their homes.
