Basava Water Plant

In Musapet Village, things move at their own pace. Our water plant is at 6-35, right in the middle of the Mandal in Mahabubnagar District. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving the big water cans around and making sure the filters are running right. The Mahabubnagar heat can be something else, so water is always on people's minds around here. We spend a lot of time checking the gauges and listening to the hum of the pumps. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of wet floors and heavy lifting. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, and we just have to wait it out like everyone else in the village. The plant is just a simple building. We don't have a big sign or anything. Most people in Musapet just know where we are. We see the same faces every day. It’s a routine that keeps us busy from morning until the evening. The trucks come and go, taking the water out to where it’s needed. We keep the pipes clean and the bottles moving. It’s basic work, but it’s what we do. We don't talk much while working because the machines are noisy. After a long day, we just lock up the gates at 6-35 and head home. That’s the life of a water plant in a village like ours. It is just simple daily work.
