Zahir Helping Hands Welfare Foundation

You can find us in Madurai, specifically at No 385 on Kamarajar 1st Street in Bibi Kulam. This foundation is just something a few of us started to help out around the area. Madurai is a big city but our corner here feels like a small village sometimes. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a big staff. It is mostly just us answering the door and seeing what people need. The Zahir Helping Hands Welfare Foundation is run out of a simple building that gets a bit dusty because of the road traffic nearby. We spend our mornings talking to locals who come by with different problems. Some days we are helping a family with food, and other days it is just about giving someone a bit of advice. The heat in Madurai can be really tough, so we try to get most of the heavy work done before noon. Our office is a bit cluttered with paperwork and donated items piled up in the corners. It’s not very organized to look at, but we know where everything is. We don't spend money on advertising because everyone in Bibi Kulam already knows where the Kamarajar street office is located. We just want to keep things going and help where it makes sense. It’s a slow process but we are here every single day doing the work that needs to be done for our neighbors.
