It is mostly just us here on East Perumal Masitry Street on most days of the week. Vv Boutique isn't exactly a big place, so we spend a lot of time just moving things around to make more room or looking out the front door at the traffic passing by. The street gets incredibly busy in the late afternoons when everyone is getting off work. Sometimes it is actually hard to hear each other talk over the loud motorbikes zooming outside. We have our regulars who stop by just to chat for a while, which is nice. I usually start the morning by sweeping the front step. The floor gets dusty pretty fast with all the wind blowing through the street. We have the racks set up along the walls, and I try my best to keep everything tidy, but sometimes the fabric piles get a bit out of control. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at the same time. My hands are usually busy with some loose thread or I am hunting for a specific needle that I dropped. It is peaceful in the early mornings before the other shops nearby open their shutters. I drink my first tea at the small wooden table in the back corner. You can see the old crumbling building right across the way from us. We don't have those fancy bright lights. Just regular bulbs that flicker if the power acts up. The fan stays on all day.
