Asianet Fashions

Asianet Fashions operates out of Plot No. 4539 in the Housing Board area of Villapuram. It is a residential neighborhood, so it feels a lot calmer than the city center. The building is a standard plot, and we have converted the space into a place where we can work on our clothing lines. There is a small gate at the front, and you have to step over a few boxes sometimes to get inside. We have sewing stations set up where the light is best. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so there is a lot of talk about local news during the breaks. We don't have a big corporate sign, just a small one so people know they have the right house. The rooms are filled with the sound of sewing machines and the smell of steam from the irons. We keep the finished clothes hanging on racks along the walls. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket on the street outside, and we have to be careful when moving the stock to the vans. It is a quiet, steady kind of life here in Villapuram. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just make the clothes and get them sent out to where they need to go.
