We’ve been here at No.1, Sivagangai Main Road for quite a while now. If you know the Aravind Eye Hospital area, you know it’s always busy. Most of us get here early before the sun gets too high because the heat on this road can be something else by midday. Our building sits right on the hospital grounds, so there is always a lot of movement. You see people coming and going at all hours. We spend our days mostly inside, keeping things moving. Sometimes the traffic outside gets backed up, especially near the main entrance, but we’re used to the noise by now. It’s just how things are here in this part of town. The walls inside our place are plain, and we don’t have anything fancy set up for visitors, just the usual desks and equipment we need to get through the list of tasks. We’ve had the same neighbors for years. Sometimes we step out for a quick break and watch the buses go by on the main road. It isn’t a glamorous spot, but it’s where we do the work. The address is easy enough for delivery drivers to find because everyone knows the hospital. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever comes across the desk each morning. It’s a steady rhythm that hasn’t changed much since we started. We don't really think about it too much, it's just our home base.
