Rasathe Garments

Rasathe Garments is located at Shed No. 104 in the Sidco Industrial Estate. It is an industrial area, so there are a lot of other sheds and factories around us. Our place is basically a big open space with a bunch of sewing machines. We do a lot of bulk work here. The roof is made of corrugated metal, so when it rains, it gets really loud inside. We have to shout to hear each other. The floors are concrete and always have some bits of thread or fabric scraps on them. We start work early when the gates open. It is a busy environment with people moving bundles of clothes back and forth. We do not have any fancy signage outside, just the number on the door. Most of our workers live nearby and walk or cycle in. We have a small area in the corner where we keep a stove for making coffee. It is a very basic setup, focused entirely on getting the garments finished. We do not have a front office or a showroom. If you want to see what we are making, you have to walk right onto the production floor. It is hot in the summer, but we have a few big fans that help a bit. It is just a place where we work hard and try to stay on schedule.
