Tamilnaduelectricity Board

We are over here at the Tamilnaduelectricity Board office on Krishnamoorthy Agraharam Street in Kallal. It’s a busy place most days because people come in with all sorts of questions about their power bills or when the lines get fixed after a storm. Our office is right there in the middle of the street, so everyone knows where we are. We spend a lot of time checking the transformers and making sure the wires are okay throughout the town. It isn’t always easy work, especially when the weather gets bad, but we just keep at it day by day. Sometimes there are power cuts for maintenance and we have to manage that too. It’s a local operation and we know most of the people living around here by face. We have our desks set up for the paperwork and some tools in the back for the field staff. If there is a problem with the meter or something, people just walk in. The building itself is plain, just a regular spot where the work gets done. There are always people coming and going, mostly locals from Kallal and the nearby areas. We try to handle things as they come. There is always a lot of tea drinking while we look over the logs. It’s just how things go around here. We don't have fancy stuff, just what we need to keep the electricity running for the homes and shops in the neighborhood. It keeps us quite busy.
