Sundari Travels

Sundari Travels is at No 126 Palace Road. We are right opposite the Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal, so we see the big palace walls every single day. It is a very famous spot, which means there are always tourists and buses everywhere. Palace Road is never really quiet. We have a front-row seat to all the activity. Our space is just a regular room with some desks pushed against the walls. We have some old benches for people who are waiting for their cars. The walls are a bit faded, and the floor could probably use a good scrub, but it is a busy place. We spend a lot of time looking out at the Mahal and the crowds. Running a travel business here means we are always talking to someone new. We don't use a lot of technology, just the basics to keep track of where the drivers are. It gets very hot, especially in the afternoon when the sun hits the street. We keep the fans going and usually have a bottle of water on every desk. It’s an honest way to make a living. We don't try to impress anyone with a big office or flashy signs. We just provide a place where people can come and figure out their travel plans. It’s a simple operation in a very historic part of Madurai that we know inside and out.
