Sumathi Jains Exports

Sumathi Jains Exports is located at No. 16 Chokkan Kotthan Lane, just off Kanchamettum Street. If you’ve never been here, the lane is pretty narrow and easy to miss. We’ve been tucked away in this spot for a good while now. It’s a busy place, especially when we have a lot of crates to move out. There isn’t much room for a truck to get in, so we end up carrying a lot of stuff to the main road by hand or on a small cart. It’s hard work and the sun really beats down on this part of town in the afternoon. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and packing materials. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that rattle when they’re on high. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy office. We just focus on getting the exports ready and making sure the paperwork isn't too messy. It’s a lot of manual labor, but we have a good group of people here who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We drink a lot of tea from the stall around the corner to keep us going. The neighborhood is loud and crowded, but we like the energy of it. We just do our work, deal with the daily hiccups, and try to get everything shipped on time. It’s a basic operation, run by regular people who know the trade.
