Our shop is in the basement of A.R. Plaza, which is at No. 16-17 on North Vell Street. You have to walk down the stairs to find us at N-89. It’s a busy street upstairs with a lot of noise and people walking by, but it’s a lot quieter once you come inside. We have shelves packed with all kinds of health products, from herbal tonics to supplements. The air usually smells a bit like dried roots and spices because of all the different things we keep in stock. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about where we stack the new crates when they arrive. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept on the shelves. People from the neighborhood come in with their own ideas about what they need, and we just help them find the right bottle or packet. We don't really do any big advertising. Word just gets around that we’re down here in the basement. The floor is a bit uneven and the lighting isn't the best, but we’ve been here a long time and our regulars know us. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, just selling products that people feel they need for their well-being.
