Space Sketchers - Architecture & Interior

If you know KK Nagar in Madurai, you know it’s a pretty active area with a lot of shops. Space Sketchers - Architecture & Interior is located at 414, right near Vinitas Beauty Parlour. People usually use the parlour as a landmark when they are trying to find our door for the first time. We spend a lot of our time looking at drawings and trying to figure out how to make furniture fit into tight corners. Being an architecture and interior firm sounds fancy, but most of the time we are just dusty from visiting sites or arguing with contractors about where a light switch should go. We started this because we liked drawing and seeing things go from paper to real life. It’s not always easy, especially when the materials don't show up on time or the weather isn't cooperating. We see a lot of people coming in wanting to fix up their old family homes or design a new shop. Some days are just filled with phone calls and checking measurements over and over. We aren't a massive corporate office with people in suits. We are usually just in our work clothes, trying to make sure the sketches we made actually look good when the wood and paint are finally applied. It’s honest work and we’ve been in this neighborhood long enough that we know most of the people walking by. It's a good place to work, even if the traffic gets a bit much sometimes.
