Sivaraman & Sundaram

Sivaraman & Sundaram is basically just two of us and a small helper who keeps the place tidy. We are situated at No 14 on the first floor of a building in Somasundaram Colony. It’s the first street you come across in that area, so it’s not too difficult to find us. We’ve been in the Ram Nagar area of Madurai for a long time now. The office is pretty basic. We have a couple of old wooden desks and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy coffee machines or glass walls. We just focus on the tasks at hand. Sometimes Sivaraman handles the people coming in while I, Sundaram, stay in the back with the logs, or vice versa. We don't really have set roles. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which helps when we need to concentrate. Somasundaram Colony has a lot of families living nearby, so you hear kids playing or people talking in the evenings. We usually close up around six or seven, depending on how much work is left. It’s a steady kind of life. We aren't trying to grow into some huge company; we just want to keep doing what we’ve been doing for the last decade. It’s a local business through and through, and we are happy staying right where we are in Ram Nagar.
