If you head down to Thirupparankundram in Madurai, you’ll find us on Kamarajar Street at C 215. Oldhand Apparels is based right here in the south part of the city. It’s a place with a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk around. Our building is simple and sits right on the street. We do a lot of our work with apparel, which means there is always something to fold or pack. The air is often filled with the smell of new cloth. We have a small crew of people from the local area. Most of them walk or take a cycle to get here. We don’t have any big corporate rules; we just expect everyone to show up and do their bit. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed until a big shipment needs to go out, then everyone moves a bit faster. We have a tea stall right around the corner where we spend our breaks. It’s a good spot to catch up on the local gossip. Madurai can be very dusty and hot, so we keep the windows open for whatever breeze we can get. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just making clothes and running a business the way it’s been done for years. It’s a steady life, and we like being part of the community here in Thirupparankundram. Every day brings something new, and we just handle it as it comes.
