Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Centre

If you walk down Melur Road towards the Lake Area, you’ll find Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Centre. It’s a large building that’s been part of the landscape for a long time. Our mornings usually start with the sound of the shift change and the smell of coffee from the small canteen nearby. There’s a lot of activity near the main entrance where families wait for news or just sit to catch their breath. We don't spend much time on long meetings; instead, we’re usually out on the floor or in the research rooms. The Lake Area is actually quite nice when the sun isn't too strong, though we don't get to look out the windows much. Our desks are piled with folders and notes, and the computer screens are always glowing. Some of the staff have been working here since they were young, so we’ve seen the place change quite a bit over the years. It’s a practical environment. We don't worry about decorations or looking fancy. What matters is that the equipment works and the floors are mopped. The patients come from all over, some traveling for hours just to get here. We try to keep things simple and help whoever walks through the doors. It's just a regular day of work for us. We make sure to check the supply cabinets every Tuesday without fail to ensure nothing is missing or running low.
