Krishnaram & Company

Krishnaram & Company has been around for a bit, located at 3, GM Complex on North Veli Street 1 in the Simmakkal area. This part of the city is always crowded, and finding a place to park can be a real headache, but it’s a good spot for being in the middle of everything. Our shop is inside the complex, which means we get to know the other shopkeepers pretty well. We see the same faces every morning when we’re opening up the shutters. The work we do here is mostly wholesale and trade, so we have a lot of boxes coming in and out throughout the week. It’s not a quiet place, especially with the noise from North Veli Street coming through the entrance. We have a small counter where we talk to customers and take orders. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit, but that’s just how it goes here. We don't have any high-tech systems, just some old ledgers and a way of doing things that hasn't changed much in years. It’s a family-style environment where we all know what needs to be done. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or advertising. We just rely on the fact that people in Simmakkal know where to find us when they need something from our stock. We try to be helpful and get the orders right without making a big fuss.
