Fancy Foot Wear

Fancy Foot Wear is our little shop located at 21 B on American Mission Church Street in Madurai. We are right there in Tamil Nadu, 625001. Madurai is a place that stays hot for most of the year, so people are always looking for comfortable things to wear on their feet. We have been around this street for a while. The church is a good landmark for people who are trying to find where we are. Our shop is not huge, but we pack in as many pairs as we can on the shelves. Sometimes the boxes are stacked right up to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a squeeze when more than three people come in at once. We sell all kinds of footwear, mostly stuff for everyday use. We are not some big brand store with bright lights and fancy carpets. It is just a regular shop with a tiled floor and some old stools for people to sit on while they try things on. We open up early and stay open until the market quietens down at night. Dealing with different foot sizes and people who can be a bit picky is just part of the daily routine. We try to keep the place tidy but with so many boxes, it is a constant struggle. It is a good life here in Madurai though, and we enjoy seeing the familiar faces of the neighborhood.
