Our spot is at Old No.06 or New No.23, depending on which map you look at. We are upstairs on Maruthupandiyar First Street in Pasumpoon Nagar. Madurai is a hot city, and this neighborhood is no exception. The office is located in a way that you have to climb a narrow set of stairs to reach us. It’s a simple setup. We don't have fancy decorations or glass walls. It is just a functional space where we manage our part of the Essar Steel Ltd business. Most of the people around here know the building because it’s been there for a long time. The street outside is usually full of bikes and people going about their business. We start early to avoid the worst of the afternoon heat. Inside, we keep things moving by staying on top of the paperwork and the phone calls. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it doesn’t stop the work from getting done. We are a small team at this location. We don't have a big corporate cafeteria, so we usually bring tiffin from home. It’s a quiet enough place once you get inside and shut the door. We spend the day looking at spreadsheets and coordinating with the other offices. It is just a regular job in a regular part of town. We try to keep things simple and get home on time. Sometimes the monkeys on the roof make a lot of noise, but we just ignore them.
