Amar Shirts

Amar Shirts is a small outfit located in Goripalayam. It’s a lively neighborhood, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have a massive factory or a big corporate office. It’s just a simple setup where we focus on making shirts that people can actually wear every day. The shop is usually filled with the sound of steam irons and the snip of scissors. We have a few tailors who have been doing this for decades, and they don't need much direction anymore. They just know how a collar should sit and how a sleeve should hang. The space is a bit tight, with rolls of cotton and linen stacked up against the walls, but we know where everything is. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy packaging. Most people find out about us just by walking past or hearing from a friend. We take our time with the stitching because if it’s not done right the first time, it’s just more work later. The lighting isn't the best, so we do the most detailed work near the front windows where the sun comes in. It is a very hands-on kind of place. We are just regular people making clothing for other regular people. There is no mystery to it, just honest work and a lot of thread. We’ve been here in Goripalayam for a while, and we plan to stay.
