Our place is located out in Shanmugarajanagar, specifically at the R.S No.140/1B area near Puliangulam. If you are coming from the main part of Madurai, you’ll find us near the Viraganoor side. It’s a quiet residential patch, and the office is basically tucked in there among the houses. Nagarajan’s family has been around this area for a long time, so most people know where the building is located. We deal with the Nidhi side of things, helping folks with their small savings and loans. It’s a very informal setup. We’ve got a couple of wooden benches for people to wait on, and the walls are mostly covered with old calendars and a few photos. The power goes out sometimes, so we keep a couple of torches handy for when we need to check the files in the back room. It’s mostly just us and the neighbors. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. Usually, the kids from the street are playing outside while we sit and do the accounting work. Madurai gets very hot in the summer, so we have a water pot in the corner for anyone who walks in thirsty. It’s not a fast-paced environment at all. We take our time to talk to everyone and make sure the entries in the passbooks are correct. It’s just a small, local operation helping the community save a bit of money every month without any extra fuss or complication.
